My appointment

For reasons of convenience, some samples must be taken by appointment.

However, making an appointment is not mandatory in our laboratories.

With Eurofins E-Clinical, save time in the laboratory by transmitting your personal information and prescription in advance.

Your laboratory then prepares your file so that everything is ready when you arrive.

By creating your E-Clinical account, you can find the laboratory nearest you and book an appointment online.

My administrative file

Documents to bring to the laboratory :

  • Prescription (except in special cases*)
  • Health insurance card

  • Consultation certificate
  • Patient consent

*It is possible to carry out medical biology tests without a prescription, subject to prior agreement with the biologist. In this case, the cost is borne by the patient, and no social security form is issued.

A prescription is generally required to carry out biological analyses for better medical follow-up. It must clearly indicate :

- The prescriber's name, function and, if applicable, qualification or title, ADELI identifier, address, signature and date of issue,

- The patient's surname, first name, sex and age; in the case of children, not only their age but also their weight.

It is possible to carry out medical biology tests in our laboratories without a prescription, subject to prior agreement with the biologist. A "Contract for medical biology analysis" form will be signed by the patient on admission to formalize the request. In this case, the costs are borne by the patient, and no social security form is issued.

On presentation of a valid Mutuelle card, and subject to agreement, the laboratory can offer third-party payment (no advance payment) for the complementary part.

Payment for my analyses :

Our medical biology laboratories are approved by the French social security system.

They have signed third-party payment agreements with a large number of mutual insurance companies, which means you don't have to pay in advance in most cases for examinations listed in the Nomenclature des Actes de Biologie Médicale.

Their pricing is dictated by the French health insurance system, and these examinations are covered by the social security system (Sécurité sociale and mutuelles) when patients are insured.

Biological tests may be paid for directly by the Assurance Maladie / Sécurité Sociale:

  • On presentation of your "carte vitale" (French national health insurance card), in accordance with your identity, and subject to open entitlements, the laboratory may practice "tiers payant" (no advance payment) on the Social Security portion.
  • The rate of reimbursement varies.

Biological tests may be paid for directly by your complementary insurance or mutual insurance company:

  • On presentation of a valid Mutuelle card, and subject to agreement;
  • The laboratory may offer third-party payment (no advance payment) for the complementary part.
  • The rate of reimbursement varies.

You must pay the full cost in the following cases:

  • Absence of health insurance card, health insurance card not up to date, patient not subject to French Social Security;
  • Absence of mutual insurance card, or expired card, or absence of agreement between your mutual insurance company and the laboratory, or cessation of activity for a professional mutual insurance company;
  • Prescription for a medical examination outside the nomenclature;
  • Analysis without prescription;
  • Prescription of a biological examination as part of a driving license suspension. The prescription is then drawn up by the prefecture's medical officer.

Some tests are not covered by the French health insurance system, and are priced by the laboratory performing them, according to their technical nature. These tests are referred to as "hors nomenclature", i.e. not reimbursed by social security, and are at the patient's expense. However, you may wish to check with your mutual insurance company. These tests will only be carried out with your agreement, which will be confirmed in writing. There is never any waiver of advance payment (no "tiers payant Mutuelle") for "non-nomenclature" examinations. They are always at your expense. If you have any doubts about the cost of your examinations, please do not hesitate to contact us.

My sample

When you arrive at the laboratory, you will be given priority with an appointment or on a first-come, first-served basis.

To save time on site, remember to pre-register your medical information and documents on E-Clinical. If not, the secretariat will take care of registering your administrative file on arrival.

Did you know?

In most cases, blood samples can be taken at any time of day, and you don't need to be fasting. However, some samples require special conditions.

If you have any doubts or questions, please contact your laboratory.

Your sample will be taken by a healthcare professional:

  • State-qualified nurse
  • Qualified technician (certificate of competence to carry out blood sampling)
  • Biologist

The professional, bound by the rules of confidentiality, will be required to question you:

  • to check the accuracy of your civil status registration with the laboratory
  • In order to collect information useful for the correct processing and interpretation of results (treatment, dosage, date of last menstrual period, foreign travel, etc.).

Sampling is carried out in compliance with hygiene and safety rules, both for you, the patient, and for the staff carrying out the sampling (hand washing, sterile single-use equipment, health-care waste channel).
